Gael Monfils may have lost in straight sets to Stan Wawrinka, but no one will ever accuse him of not going down swinging.

Monfils was forced onto the defensive from the start, hopping from one side of the court to the other at various depths throughout the match. He was able to keep the first two sets interesting, losing them 7-5 7-6, but the onslaught proved to be overwhelming as he lost the third set 6-2.

However, despite the tough loss, it didn't come due to lack of effort. Monfils had a few truly impressive returns to keep himself alive throughout the match, including one that would make a lot of men cry if they ever attempted it.
