Novak Djokovic reached the French Open semifinals with a straight-sets victory over Tomas Berdych on Thursday.
Djokovic, the world's top-ranked player, had only lost twice in 25 matches against Berdych before their quarterfinal encounter on Court Philippe Chatrier. Thursday was an all-too familiar story for Berdych, who lost 6-3, 7-5, 6-3.

Djokovic and Berdych were playing for the third day in a row because the rain in Paris. Djokovic plays again on Friday when he faces Dominic Thiem, who defeated David Goffin 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4, 6-1 to reach his first Grand Slam semifinal.
