NEW YORK — NBC's Bob Costas and Doc Emrick, TBS' Bill Raftery, CBS' Verne Lundquist and Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Katie Nolan were the big individual winners at the 37th Annual Sports Emmy Awards Tuesday.
But in an upset, upstart FS1 topped the list with eight awards compared to rivals NBC (seven), ESPN and HBO (five) and CBS (four). Fox Sports Media Group also led the way with 10 awards compared to nine for ESPN, seven for NBC and five apiece for CBS and HBO.
Costas, host of NBC's top-rated "Football Night in America," won "Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Host" for his work on NBC and MLB Network.
