Former Wisconsin star Montee Ball sentenced to jail, probation for domestic abuse incidents

Former Wisconsin and NFL running back Montee Ball was sentenced to 60 days in county jail and 18 months probation after pleading guilty Friday to two charges of disorderly conduct and one charge of battery, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported . The sentence is part of a plea agreement relating to domestic abuse incidents in 2014 and earlier this year.

Ball, 25, is in alcohol counseling but also was ordered by Dane County (Wis.) Circuit judge William E. Hanrahan to undergo a certified domestic-abuse treatment program and to not have contact with his female victims.

“I know that you’ve received trophies and scholarships for pounding people on the gridiron,” Hanrahan said in sentencing Ball.
