Former Steelers safety Will Allen is upset with ESPN after a misleading tweet sent Monday from a network account with 30.1 million followers.
The tweet promoted a story about former Giants, Dolphins and Patriots cornerback Will Allen, who pleaded guilty to federal fraud, conspiracy and money laundering charges. As you may have noticed, both players are named Will Allen and played defensive back, leading to some confusion.
Although the story identifies the correct Allen, a photo used to promote the story on Twitter featured the wrong one. And, as we know, a lot of people just read the headline or see a tweet without digging deeper, so someone could get the wrong impression of the ex-Steeler Allen.
