Former Seattle Sonics superstar Shawn Kemp was charged with assault in the first degree Friday after allegedly firing a handgun in a mall parking lot in March, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Kemp was arrested in March and investigated for a drive-by shooting. At the time, Kemp's lawyer, W. Scott Boatman, claimed Kemp tracked down individuals he believed broke into his car and stole his property. An iPhone was among the items reportedly stolen, and Kemp was able to track down the device to a mall parking lot in Tacoma, Wash.
