A man in Akron, Ohio, was found guilty of trying to extort former Ohio State running back Christopher “Beanie” Wells after he lost money in a drug deal gone wrong, Cleveland.com reported.
Franklin Conley, 28, told Wells he would harm him and his family if he didn’t pay between $65,000 and $175,000 after Wells' brother set up a drug deal in which Conley and co-defendant Patrick Griffin lost money.

Wells said Conley's threats intensified over several months until the FBI got involved. The former Buckeye denied being involved with the drug deal in question.
