Former NFL WR Jeff Webb arrested on fraud charges

Former NFL wide receiver Jeff Webb was arrested June 28 in California on multiple felony counts of insurance fraud after allegedly staging a series of car crashes in 2012 and 2013

Webb and eight others (all former college teammates) allegedly staged four car collisions with privately owned and rental vehicles, resulting in $70,000 in fraudulent claims and a total potential loss to insurers of $139,000. The California Department of Insurance alleged Webb was the ringleader of the group and received the bulk of the money paid by insurance companies.
