LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Keith Loneker, the former Kansas offensive lineman who spent three years in the NFL before becoming a modestly successful actor, died Thursday. He was 46.
The school announced Loneker’s death in a statement. No cause was given, though son and current Kansas linebacker Keith Loneker Jr. said he’d been diagnosed with cancer late last year.
Loneker helped the Jayhawks to a victory in the 1992 Aloha Bowl, earning first-team All-Big Eight honors, before signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Rams. He wound up spending three seasons with the franchise, starting five times and appearing in 19 games.
