Former Chief faces felony counts, accused of car collision insurance scam

Jeff Webb, who played with the Chiefs from 2006-2008, is facing multiple felony counts.

He's accused of "orchestrating four staged collisions resulting in a total loss exceeding $139,000," according to a California Department of Insurance press release. The Los Angeles Times reported that those collisions occurred between July 2012 and March 2013.

The L.A. Times added that he was arrested on June 28 in Indio, Calif. Webb, 34, was then released on $120,000 bail.

Those collisions, according to the department, resulted in "$70,000 in fraudulent claims and a total potential loss of $139,000.
