The Philadelphia Flyers have made a change at the head coaching position after a miserable start to the 2021-22 season.
After two-plus seasons, Alain Vigneault was dismissed by the organization on Tuesday morning, as per multiple insiders. Assistant coach Michel Therrien was also let go.
The announcement marks the fourth time Vigneault has ran out his tenure as head coach with an NHL organization. Previously with the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers, each have been high-profile gigs.
Philadelphia had lost eight consecutive games leading up to the announcement, which happened to be the longest losing streak of Vigneault's tenure.
