Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Reports of Conor McGregor fight aren't rumors

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s latest retirement might not last long.

Mayweather says he's the one who started rumors of a potential fight against UFC champion Conor McGregor.

"It's possible," Mayweather told reporters Saturday, via Liftn.com. "It was a name that was shot at me. The rumors that y'all been hearing is the rumors that I started. It may not be a rumor. Keep y'all fingers crossed. It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter."

Mayweather said he has earned the right to demand more than $100 million for a potential September fight. British publication The Sun reported the money split to be $144 million for Mayweather with McGregor taking home about $10 million.
