Florida's Jeremy Foley retiring after 25 years as AD

Jeremy Foley is retiring as athletics director at the University of Florida, effective Oct. 1, the school announced Monday.

Foley, 63, has been in the school's athletic department for 40 years, the last 25 as AD. He will remain Emeritus Athletics Director after his official retirement date.

Florida has enjoyed remarkable success across multiple sports under Foley’s leadership. The Gators won 27 national titles in 13 sports, the most recent coming Friday night when the men's track and field team won the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Eugene, Ore.

In 2006, Florida became the first school in college sports history to win national championships in football and men’s basketball in the same school year.
