Florida squeaks past Vandy to win SEC East

It's official: Florida can celebrate its first SEC East title since 2009. Though after the Gators' performance Saturday, they may not much feel like it.

Austin Hardin's career-long 43-yard field goal with 2:22 to play gave Florida its only points of the second half and a white-knuckle 9-7 homecoming win over Vanderbilt. The win improved the Gators to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC, enough to clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a game to spare.

The Commodores took a 7-6 lead into halftime after a 74-yard touchdown run from Ralph Webb, then clung to it tenaciously through the second half, holding the Gators to minus-18 total yards in the third quarter and forcing a Demarcus Robinson fumble inside their own 20 with 11:14 to play.
