The Rams fired Jeff Fisher with three games left in the regular season ... and with Fisher tied with Dan Reeves (who went to four Super Bowls) for the most coaching losses in NFL history.
The timing seemed odd for a couple reasons. Owner Stan Kroenke had to know that dubious distinction was hanging over Fisher’s head, and it might haunt him forever if he never coaches again. Assuming he won’t, that is, although Fisher clearly is the NFL’s Rasputin.

Yet Kroenke also could have never let Fisher get that close … by getting rid of him and his career of mediocrity and just getting by before now.
