The DJ fired by the Padres in the wake of the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus short-circuited performance of the national anthem over the weekend calls the incident "an unfortunate mistake."
Members of the chorus issued a statement saying they were humiliated and then taunted by some fans when, after they were assembled on the field Saturday, a recording of a woman singing the anthem played.

On Monday, the day after a Padres investigation concluded that DJ ArtForm (real name: Art Romero) was responsible, he wrote on his Facebook page that he accepted responsibility but was adamant that it was, in fact, a mistake and not an act of hate:
“My deepest apologies and sincere regret toward the entire San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus & the LGBT community for the incident that occurred during the National Anthem.
