Max Holloway earned hands down the biggest win over his career Saturday night when he dethroned featherweight champion Jose Aldo to become the UFC’s undisputed king at 145-pounds in the UFC 212 main event.
Holloway weathered an early storm from Aldo as the Brazilian pulled ahead on the scorecard after the first two rounds. But “Blessed” turned it on in the third round and began dismantling Aldo with a barrage of combinations before dropping him with a right hand midway through the round.
Holloway followed up with some relentless ground and pound until referee “Big John” McCarthy stepped in and called an end to the action.
