Cheap beer nights are not always a good idea at the baseball stadium. Witness the infamous Ten Cent Beer Night at old Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1974, when the Indians forfeited a game to the Rangers after drunken fans, some carrying knives and chains, rioted.
But most of the time, fans on these special promotion nights know how to drink responsibly and have a good time. Such was the case at Cleveland's Progressive Field Friday night, when some fans in the outfield bleachers got really creative on $2 beer night.
