Examining Donnie Tyndall's potential appeal against NCAA

Last March, Donnie Tyndall was fired as Tennessee men's basketball coach after one season.

The decision came amid an NCAA investigation into wrongdoing during his tenure at Southern Miss. Last week, the NCAA announced its decision. A Committee on Infractions panel determined Tyndall acted unethically and failed to promote an atmosphere for compliance when he directed his staff to engage in academic misconduct. The sanctions levied on Tyndall rival any in NCAA history.

He maintains his innocence and will appeal the decision after hiring Donald Jackson from the Sports Group as his legal counsel.
