Spurs GM R.C. Buford has been named the NBA’s 2015-16 Executive of the Year, while, in a bizarre result, ex-76ers GM Sam Hinkie received some votes as well.
It’s the second time Buford has earned the distinction, having also won the award in 2013-14.
Buford received nine of 29 first-place votes and 77 total points in the voting. The Trail Blazers’ Neil Olshey finished second with 63 points (10 first-place votes), and the Warriors’ Bob Myers was third with 38 points (five first-place votes).

And in what’s confounding some basketball observers, Hinkie, who resigned as GM of the 76ers after a woeful 10-72 season, garnered a first-place vote and five points in executive of the year voting.
