Ex-MLB player shows off his year's supply of beer for hitting HR off sign in Japan

Kirin Brewery of Japan has kept its promise, giving an ex-MLB player a year's supply of beer and $10,000 after his home run hit the beer company's sign last month.

Brandon Laird, who played for the Astros and Yankees, is with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in Japan's Pacific League. His solo homer against the Orix Buffaloes on May 10 hit the Kirin Beer sign over left-field fence, which meant Laird earned a year's worth of beer and the hefty prize money from the brewery.
