ESPN announced the hiring of Ibanez as a “Baseball Tonight” analyst Wednesday, saying he’ll make his debut during Wednesday’s Rangers-Yankees broadcast.

Schilling, who was fired last week after an anti-transgender Facebook post incited heavy scrutiny, was suspended by the network in 2015 after tweeting a graphic comparing Muslims to Nazis.
