Duke basketball’s lean rotation was cut to the bone in the first half of Wednesday night’s visit to North Carolina when veteran wing Matt Jones injured his left ankle late in the first half.
Jones, a 6-5 junior, was attempting to drive past North Carolina star forward Brice Johnson when he landed awkwardly on Johnson’s heel with just under eight minutes left.

Jones stayed down on the court for an extended period. He was helped off the floor, sat on the bench with his leg elevated for a period and then was taken to the locker room during a timeout.
