The Pistons really wanted Donatas Motiejunas before the Thursday NBA trade deadline. So much so, they were willing to overlook his back injuries and give Houston a protected first round pick in return.
But Motiejunas, who hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 31 because of lingering back issues, has yet to pass a physical by the Pistons' medical staff.
