Donatas Motiejunas' back injury could derail trade to Pistons

The Pistons really wanted Donatas Motiejunas before the Thursday NBA trade deadline. So much so, they were willing to overlook his back injuries and give Houston a protected first round pick in return.

But Motiejunas, who hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 31 because of lingering back issues, has yet to pass a physical by the Pistons' medical staff.

"You can ask for an extension to go over medical information," Van Gundy said, via the Detroit Free Press.
