Less than three years after saying he'd like to see NFL players who kneel for the anthem be "fired," President Donald Trump now says he'd like to see the leader of the anthem protest get another chance at playing.
Speaking to Sinclair reporter Scott Thurman on Wednesday, Trump said he'd love to see Colin Kaepernick get a shot at playing in the NFL again.
""If he deserves it, he should. If he has the playing ability. His playing wasn't up to snuff," Trump said. "The answer is absolutely I would, as far as kneeling, I would love to see him get another shot but obviously he has to be able to play well," he continued.
