Although President Donald Trump has been critical of Colin Kaepernick in the past, he said Wednesday he would support the quarterback getting another shot in the NFL.
"If he deserves it, he should," Trump said. "If he has the playing ability. He started off great and then he didn't end up very great in terms as a player."
Kaepernick saw plenty of criticism in 2016 when he kneeled during the national anthem as a protest against racial injustice. Trump was especially hard on the former San Francisco 49ers player and others who supported his movement in 2017, calling for them to lose their jobs.
