PEORIA, Ariz. — Friday night's Royals-Padres game at the Peoria Sports Complex was a special one.
It was not special for anything that happened on the field, though Yordano Ventura did toss two scoreless innings in his Cactus League debut for the defending world champions.
What made it special was off the field, as the outfield lawn hosted the Bow Wow Pow Wow, with proceeds benefiting the Arizona Humane Society.
