Disconnect between Troy Polamalu, Steelers expected to end

Troy Polamalu has kept his distance from the Steelers since the team forced him into retirement last year.

Pittsburgh's longtime safety announced his decision last April to retire from the NFL after 12 seasons and has hardly been seen at the team’s facility since. He even skipped an event last fall honoring the Super Bowl XL team.

But that could finally change Wednesday night when Polamalu attends the 80th Dapper Dan Dinner & Sports Auction that will honor former teammate Antonio Brown as Sportsman of the Year. For the first time in months, he is expected to reunite with team president Art Rooney II and other members of the organization.
