Miami (AFP) - The Miami Dolphins sacked head coach Joe Philbin on Monday, a day after a 27-14 NFL loss to the New York Jets in London.

Dan Campbell, the assistant coach in charge of tight ends, will take over head coaching duties for the remainder of the season, the club said.

Sunday's defeat at Wembley dropped the Dolphins to 1-3 for the season. Miami have a bye this week, and next visit the Tennessee Titans on October 18.
