Dirk Koetter's tenure as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly came to an end on Sunday.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Buccaneers are firing the 59-year-old after their disappointing 5-11 this season.
Koetter has been with the Bucs since 2016 when he was hired to take over for Lovie Smith. He had immediate success with the team in his first year, posting their first winning record (9-7) since 2010.
Things appeared to be trending in the right direction for the Buccaneers. Jameis Winston had a solid rookie campaign with 4,090 yards and 28 touchdowns, while wide receiver Mike Evans set a career high with 1,321 receiving yards and tied his career high with 12 touchdowns.
