It's set to be a summer of basketball in the city, even after the Detroit Pistons' season ends.
The Pistons and Wayne State University have teamed up to host the 2025 Friendship Games, organized by PeacePlayers International. The event will take place from July 27-Aug. 3 and will feature international players gathering for a cultural exchange, basketball and leadership training.
Pistons vice chairman Arn Tellem said this event will provide an opportunity for players from all over the world to experience what Detroit has to offer.
"We’re all proud to support this incredible initiative and we encourage others to join us in making this event a success for our city, nation, and world," he said in a statement.
