Derrick Gordon, who made history in 2014 by becoming the first player in Division I men's basketball to publicly come out as gay, has decided to end his basketball career at the collegiate level.
Gordon made an announcement on Twitter and Instagram Friday, saying he would forego an attempt at a career in the NBA to become a firefighter in San Francisco.
