Derek Jeter will join commissioner Rob Manfred in Cuba

Derek Jeter may not be playing anymore, but he is still very involved in the game of baseball.

The former Yankees shortstop will accompany commissioner Robert Manfred to Cuba for an exhibition game between the Rays and the Cuban national team, MLB announced Friday.

Former MLB players and fellow Cubans Luis Tiant and Jose Cardenal also will be on hand for the game, which will take place March 22 in Havana.

The Rays will be the first major-league team to play in Cuba since 1999, when the Orioles played the Cuban national team.
