DeAndre Jordan, now a starter, helps power Team USA past Spain, into gold medal game

RIO DE JANEIRO — Paul George forced Pau Gasol into a turnover on the left wing with 1:14 to go in the third quarter of Team USA’s semifinal game against Spain here on Friday. Center DeAndre Jordan was out ahead of the pack, and when the ball was lasered to him, he caught it and looked up — he was about 50 feet from the basket, with no one ahead of him. He had the floor to himself.

Jordan took two steps, all elbows and knees, dropped the ball for one dribble, picked it up and returned to his assault on the approaching basket.
