Former NFL wide receiver Davone Bess pleaded not guilty to an unlawful flight charge on Tuesday.
The Associated Press reported on Bess' case in Maricopa County Superior Court, which stems from a June 19 incident in Gilbert, Arizona.
Bess was arrested by a SWAT team after he was pulled over for driving without his headlights on and proceeded to flee the scene in his vehicle, per charging documents the AP cited.
In addition to the unlawful flight charge, Bess was charged with a felony count of endangerment.
The aforementioned charging documents also indicated the 30-year-old used his hand to mimic a gun, pointed his finger at police officers and mimed discharging a weapon before driving away.
