David Johnson, Cardinals Reportedly Agree to 3-Year, $39M Contract Extension

After being taken by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft, David Johnson quickly became one of the best all-around running backs in football.

Now, the 26-year-old is being paid as such.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday that Johnson and the Cardinals agreed to terms on a three-year, $39 million extension that includes $30 million guaranteed. The deal can be worth a maximum of $45 million.

Johnson piled up more than 1,000 yards from the line of scrimmage as a rookie, but that was just the start of things to come.
