Don't expect those chips placed in NFL footballs to measure the balls' PSI ... yet.
The new chips, which will be used during the preseason and potentially in Thursday night games, will not be equipped to measure whether a football is properly inflated, ESPN.com reported, citing an unidentified source.
However, the technology exists to add PSI (pounds per square inch) to the chip if the NFL is willing to make the arrangement.

As of now, the chip can track the velocity of throws and the ball's location during kicks, according to the report.
