South Carolina alum Darius Rucker has a proposition for the 2016 Gamecock football team, Will Muschamp's first squad as coach in Columbia. Win six games and it will get a Rucker concert on campus in The Horseshoe. The entire thing unfolded on Twitter over the last week.
Somebody tweeted at Rucker that he should play a concert if USC gets to six wins and a bowl game. Rucker responded and said to start a petition. Then USC president Harris Pastides said it was a done deal if and when six wins are secured.
One problem! USC has only won 10 total games in the last two years, and the path to six this season is not exactly clean.
