CONCORD, N.C. — Amid the mass of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon fans at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Saturday night, with their allegiance loudly emblazoned on everything from T-shirts to hats, this much was apparent: Danica Patrick owned the preteen girl demographic.
It was not hard to notice Patrick fans dotting pit road before the annual Sprint All-Star Race. They were the ones decked out in No. 10 gear with that signature Day-Glo green representing her primary sponsor, GoDaddy.
“Every little girl likes somebody to look up to,” said Kelly Turner, 40, of Waterdown, Ontario.
