The discussion of the next head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers hit a fervor with reports swirling earlier this week that the Lakers were zeroing in on current ESPN basketball analyst JJ Redick as their next head coach. On Thursday morning, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Lakers are preparing a lucrative, long-term offer for UConn head coach Dan Hurley, and Hurley is now willing to meet with the team.
"He is the target of their search," Wojnarowski said. "He's been the target for the Lakers' search since the beginning. Both sides have had preliminary contact and those conversations are expected to escalate in the coming days.
