Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes smart move with injury, but fans should be concerned

Dale Earnhardt Jr. deserves a lot of credit and respect for listening to his doctors and pulling himself from his racecar because of concussion-like symptoms.

Since a pair of concussions in 2012, Earnhardt dedicated time to studying the effect concussions can have on racecar drivers and other professional athletes. He even committed to donate his brain to science, like other concussion victims in sports have done, to help scientists better understand the dangers of concussions.

It's incredibly difficult for any athlete to step forward and admit he or she might have a concussion, knowing it will likely lead to being unable to compete.
