Dale Earnhardt Jr. endures pit fire, untimely caution in run to second

Dale Earnhardt Jr. may have finished second on Saturday night — but it certainly didn’t look easy getting there.

Although he was fast all night, an untimely caution put him in position of fighting back for a top finish in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

He rallied back to his runner-up finish for his fourth top-10 finish in seven races this season.

“We got a little behind and got caught on pit road on that one caution," he said.
