CHICAGO — The 1989 NLCS between the Cubs and Giants featured arguably the greatest head-to-head playoff showdown between two hitters in baseball history.
Cubs first baseman Mark Grace hit .647 (11-for-18), with three doubles, a triple, a homer and eight RBIs in the five-game series
Giants first baseman Will Clark hit .650 (13-for-18), with three doubles, a triple, two homers and eight RBIs.
Truly epic stuff.
