Coyotes to make John Chayka, 26, youngest GM in pro sports history

John Chayka has only been with the Arizona Coyotes for a year. He'll soon be in charge.

The Coyotes are expected to announce the 26-year-old Chayka as their new general manager during a Thursday news conference, according to ESPN.com.

Chayka was hired last year as the team's assistant general manager. He'll now replace Don Maloney, who was fired last month after nine seasons, and become the youngest general manager in NHL history. He will also be the youngest-ever GM in any of the four major North American sports leagues.
