Dallas (AFP) - The Dallas Cowboys placed Lance Dunbar on injured reserve on Saturday, officially ending the running back's season a week after he tore a knee ligament.

The Cowboys, reeling from a spate of injuries as they face a Sunday showdown with reigning Super Bowl champions New England, promoted wide receiver Vince Mayle from the practice squad.
