The NFL offered players an option to opt out of its upcoming COVID-19 season with stipends ranging from $150,000 to $350,000.
A lot of players took that option, many citing family health concerns.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence has a seven-months pregnant wife at home. He did not take that option.
He told reporters from practice on Friday that the decision was her call. And she insisted that he play.
“My decision was made by my wife,” Lawrence said, per USA Today. “She basically told me there’s no way possible that I could miss this season.
