Ashley and Lucas Henar are no newbies to ticker tape parades in New York City. They’ve been to the celebrations for the Giants and Yankees before.
So when the siblings woke up at 5 a.m. Friday morning to grab a good viewing spot near Battery Park in lower Manhattan, where the U.S. women’s national soccer team be showered with confetti following their World Cup win, they expected to be trekking through MLB- and NFL-sized crowds.
“This is way smaller,” said Ms. Henar, 15, of Middletown, N.J. The pair were in the city with a friend, Kevin McCarthy, 16.
