Conference realignment is always a touchy subject. It's often an arranged marriage that follows an estrangement between a member school and a conference, and as such, is hardly ever a perfect union.
That was the case three years ago, when the old Big East Conference, then enriched with storied basketball schools with subpar football teams, took its member institutions and focused on their hoops history. As the conference continues to try to mold its identity, there is at least one member school's athletic director who thinks it may be time to consider bringing new schools into the fold.
