Cooper Flagg scored 42 points and broke Duke's single-game scoring record by a freshman during the Blue Devils' 86-78 win over Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.
The highly touted Flagg moved past Zion Williamson (35 points, 2019 vs. Syracuse) on Duke's all-time list among freshmen. He also became the first Duke player to reach the 40-point mark in a game since JJ Redick did it against Virginia in January 2006, and Flagg also set the ACC freshman record.
Jared McCain (35), Redick (34) and Marvin Bagley III (34) are next on the Blue Devils' single-game freshman scoring list.
