Commanders' assistant GM hints at possible free-agent edge rushers

Heading into the 2025 NFL draft, almost everyone agreed that the Washington Commanders needed an edge rusher. The Commanders held only five picks in the draft after trading for three veteran players. Fortunately for Washington, this was considered a deep class for edge rushers.

However, each time Washington was on the clock, it looked elsewhere, beginning in the first round with offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. at No. 29 overall. The Commanders could've traded back, but they loved Conerly and wanted to continue rebuilding the offensive line.

The same thing happened at pick No. 61.
